Denominator collects data from multiple publicly available sources including corporate sustainability reports, annual reports, regulatory filings, websites, government databases, industry registries, general web and proprietary disclosures. Each source is standardized through Denominator's methodology and linked into a single format. Denominator is often viewed as collector of a company’s entire digital footpring which means Denominator often has multiple sources for the same data point which allow clients to choose preferred source or perform source triangulation. It is important to note that Denominator doesn’t blend sources, but keep source transparency including source proof and audibility.

Denominator also maintains a global range of benchmarks for public, private or combined asset classes for each industry, country, and/or industry within a country. In other words Denominator can apply statistical estimation models calibrated to industry, country, and company-size benchmarks. Users who prefer to work exclusively with disclosed data can receive raw data and scores based purely on reported information.
