WEF25 recap | From Davos to action

  • Denominator attended World Economic Forum and +25 meaningful events, including the Equality Lounge®, Goals House, Bloomberg, Social Innovation House, SustainableIT...
  • What happens in Davos... should not stay in Davos. Conversations at Davos must translate into measurable action for meaningful impact.
  • Denominator launched a new diversity report analyzing the top 100 CSO Awards nominees together with futur/io.

Last week, Denominator’s CEO, Anders Rodenberg and Emma Helbo, Head of External Relations & Communication, participated in the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting (WEF) in Davos, attending over 25 events focused on sustainability, diversity, and responsible business practices.

AI-Driven Diversity in Supply Chains

Denominator’s Davos journey began at The Equality Lounge® by The Female Quotient, where Anders Rodenberg joined a panel discussion on enhancing supply chain visibility through AI-driven diversity solutions. The panel brought together experts in sustainability and supply chains to explore both the challenges and opportunities of integrating diversity into corporate strategies.

Anders A. L. Rodenberg, CEO of Denominator, highlighted the power of data in driving diversity, emphasizing that AI decisions depend on unbiased, comprehensive data:

"AI is only as powerful as the data it’s trained on. If the data is biased or incomplete, AI will make wrong decisions. That’s why it's critical to ensure diverse, accurate data feeds into AI systems."

Some key takeaways from the session:

  • Technology has made it easier than ever to integrate social factors into sustainability strategies, alongside climate and energy metrics.
  • While regulation has historically prioritized climate, today’s reporting frameworks are becoming more holistic.
  • Companies are increasingly asked about their social impact—not just by regulators, but by investors, customers, and partners.
  • The key is not seeing diversity as an extra task, but as a fundamental part of a company’s sustainability strategy

Launching the CSO Awards Diversity Report

Diversity remained in focus throughout the week, with the CSO Awards Europe /25 marking another major milestone. This event marked the third consecutive year of collaboration between Denominator and futur/io, culminating in the launch of a new diversity report. The report analyzes the diversity performance of the top 100 companies nominated for the CSO Awards, offering a data-driven perspective on sustainability leadership and best practices. +25 events attended

Beyond these events, we took part in key conversations at PATCH, Goals House, Bloomberg, Social Innovation House, Axios, Celonis, Wipro, and SustainableIT. These discussions provided invaluable opportunities to connect with clients, partners, and industry leaders on critical topics, including:

  • Largest wealth transfer in history. Over the next decade, $100 trillion will shift to next-gen investors. Women currently control one-third of global wealth, but within five years, they will surpass 50%—driving demand for customized, transparent investment strategies, as outlined by Ida Liu, Citi Private Bank.
  • AI is only as good as the data. AI models are not inherently better decision-makers—they're only as strong as the data they’re trained on. If the input is biased or incorrect, the outcomes will be too. "The most powerful AI is worth nothing if the data is wrong," said Anders A. L. Rodenberg, Denominator.
  • Supply chain: a hidden force for impact. It’s not just your own company but also what others can demand of you and what you can require from others, said Janina Bauer, Celonis. Sustainability is more than the environment; it’s also about people, and today’s technology makes it possible to take a holistic perspective.

From Commitments to Measurable Change

What happens in Davos… should not stay in Davos. This message was shared by Global Conversations during a tribute evening hosted by the Tim Bergling Foundation, focusing on mental health, and resonated deeply with Denominator. Davos serves as a global platform to tackle pressing challenges, but real impact happens when conversations turn into action. Let’s ensure that commitments made in Davos translate into measurable progress.
